So will this mean a dashboard dismantle to fit a new cable?

OK.. so the good news is the heater is in and works.. really works.. powerful and toasty warm..

Bad news, it was a PITA to fit.. took BoT 6 hours and included taking the dash out! In fairness to Adam at T7, I will speak to him before posting any more details..

Oops! Looked like I missed the acceptance that the dash would have to come out earlier in the thread.. my bad..

LHD-fitment

I got a unit from Adam to work out how it fits in LHD-Cars.

You get this parts:

I had to turn the upper plate around to get the air-hose away from the brake-cylinder.

The brackets fit without problems to existing rivnuts.

The installation of the warm-cold-valve is a bit tricky.

It shows to the front of the car at it's normal position. No chance to connect the heater hoses from the car at this position.

I could find a position where it works in LHD-car with an additional 90°hose

Posted Image

This is not needed for RHD!

Adam will send me a 90° rubber hose to replace my plastic piece.

He will add this to the kit for standard so installation in LHD cars is no problem.

The original bowden cable was in perfect condition at my car. No need to change it, just bent a loop at the end to get it working with the warm-cold-valve.

So no need for getting the dashboard out in my case.

The installation took me about 3,5hours because I had no pictures, just a written how-to. And I had to try out the modifications for my LHD-Car what cost me very much time.

Once installed, it blows much more air and much more heat than the standard-heater. I am very, very happy with it!!

Great! Thanks for posting this..

Does the heater come in when the battery is still fit?

Also, I guess you fit the air hose at the end. How tight it was, do you have any final photo maybe?

Best way is to get the battery and old heater out, install everything but the last screws, battery and then screw the heater into the new brackets. Will take some pics tomorrow

Hi Chris,

Just to let you know I have now sold my VX so will not need the heater I reserved which means you can release it to another customer,

Warm winter to all new users

Just getting round to having a good run with the heater and I have to say the prototype was good-looking but the nice machined brackets, alloy cone and bespoke fittings all done in anodized black really make this one of the best made parts in the whole car.

I fitted new suspension so got the car out for a spirited drive around the coast today. Wet and windy, the cabin warmed quickly and I was able to turn the heat down for the rest of the journey and it kept the windows demisted and me comfortable with little effort.

Any idea when T7 is going to list LHD version on the web page? (I guess testing has been done already, based on the above post)

Just give them a call and tell that you need a 2nd 90 degree hose to install it in LHD and install it like shown in my pictures above.

I thought it's suitable to ask it here but let me know if it's not. Have you all installed it yourselves? I am interested in buying the above heater but I don't have the knowledge to install it myself. Do you know the approximate cost for this installation?

Thanks in advance.
