Hello everybody,

 

I am a new owner and very happy !

I want to buy the team dynamic 1.2 like a lot of people but so many different size.

 

First of all it's for the road mainly.

 

the original one is :

175/55 R17 - RIM size ? and offset ?

225/45 R17 - RIM size ? and offset ?

 

I understand it's hard to find the front tyre so it's better to change, that's right ?

 

So what is the correct size to find easily tyres when needed and the size for the rims front and rear.

 

Personaly I would like the wheel more outside for better looking (I know, it should be for the performance but looking good is important too),

so what is the correct offset  without touching something ?

 

if you have recommendation for brand and type of tyres, should be awesome (more for road not only track days please)

 

If I can have your advices (for the normal one + the one I would like so I will be not confuseed after) I will be very happy and ready to order :-)

My TD wheels for street use looks like this and have the following dimensions:

Flush fit and no rubbing on my car, it also has nitrons with height set as delivered, so about 40mm lower than oem.

The most common size used are 16/195 or 205 for the front and 17/225 at the rear. (i.e. the rears as standard) This is the sizes Vauxhall/Lotus used on the VXR version with the Speedlines. There is a view that handling is improved/ understeer reduced as well as the obvious better range of tyre options. However, improved grip is more down to geometry set up than wheel sizes.

 

Don't know about offsets etc but Team Dynamics do them off the shelf to fit.

 

This is mine with that set up on included a slighter lowered suspension setting

IMO it's the best mod you can make, either a 195 or 205 tyre at the front. Black wheels also suit the car better give it  a bit more presence.

I also have a set of 17" ATS DTC and I based these dimensions on how I wanted my street wheels to look on the car. So I basically wanted same flush and stretch front and rear. And 0,5" added width isn't much in weight.

 

But performance wise 16" or even 15" is better since rubber is lighter then aluminium. But in my opinion the most important thing is to use tires with good wall/side force stability or the whole sporty feeling will be lost.
