Trying to find real world data on this and I am drawing a blank.

Is there any performance difference between the Klasen and the EDS inlet manifolds.

The Klasen looks to have longer runners which I would expect it to make more HP at high revs and the EDS to make more torque at lower revs but that is only a guess looking at the designs.

And is there any noticeable quality difference between the EDS and the EDS copy.

Thanks

It's more the other way around: eds for high revving power where the flow is high and the klassen with longer runners focuses more on full range improvement. Avoid the copy eds ones, I have one on an Astra and it cracked in 2 places.

+1 on what ayresyy said, EDS puts the power up top and makes it a lot more progressive, goes very well with a set of cams. EDS Copies are perfectly fine though if its a Pegasus Motorsport one, if anything they are actually better than the EDS which are shite casting anyway. The early EDS copies made in Poland or Lithuania werent great quality but they are from different sellers.

Me being a scrooge I think mine was one of the latter eastern European cheapo copies..

The EDS one is actually a part copy from the old C20LET one they did, they simply chopped it up a bit to mate with the Z20LET and X20XEV heads. There won't be any flow data for it based on what I heard about it's "development".

I was intending to make my own inlet manifold, possibly dynamically adjustable with movable length silicone tube runners. I still have the steel inlet flange to which I could weld the runner stubs etc.

Just fitted the EDS copy and staggered at the difference it made, with power made higher in the rev range. A great mod for sure! You will also need a revised bracket to re-fit the alternator which I have for sale if you decide to go down this route? Also worth fitting a phenolic spacer whilst you are there? Jon

Yep, makes the top end rpm a fun place , the normal manifold is obviously designed to toe caravans.

I am just now working on a map to exploit the inlet manifold potential and options for the hybrid turbos.
