Just bought my second vx220 turbo, I bought my first back in 08 but sold it just 8 months later. A decision I have regretted for nearly 10 years now. I've owned some decent cars since, m3, s2000 and my most recent one which I still have, Z4m roadster. (Lovely car) But none of these cars could get rid of the sadness I had for selling my vx220 turbo. So on 11/03/17 I've bought myself a red vx220 which has had some modifications to make it look similar to the vxr220. It has some subtle mods; alacantra dash board with keyless start, turbo and oil gauges, stereo with USB and phone connectivity, AP race breaks with floating discs, pro race black alloys and a full miltech exhaust system. It also has the vxr220 screen with rear spoiler. It definitely feels faster than a standard vxt as it doesn't have that flat spot in the rev range. I would guess it is around 220bhp, I'm not sure if the exhaust system would add any power without a remap? Good morning the Demolition Man, And a big welcome! Great to see another local owner! Please make sure that you join out Facebook page and check out our local event 25th March meeting in Newark. Would be great to meet a new face. As for remaps, there's just one place that I would recommend - MMG in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The web page is rubbish but Liam is a VX specialist, a complete magician with our cars. He has totally transformed my car over the years and is highly respected on here. It's a great drive from Notts too. He does a stage 1+ remap which is great value and makes one hell of a difference. I did the same, bought my first in 2003 sold it after 3 years(very sad day, cried like a baby ) bought my current VXT in 2012. this one's a keeper

you can normally tell if the car has been remapped as it gets rid of the flat spot around 4000rpm

Excellent, thanks for the replys and info. As ive only just got the car im still a bit apprehensive about driving it too hard, but im sure ill relax over the next few weeks.

just make sure its dry then grip will be available in the wet a vxt can be tail friendly on boost

Just had Steve (aka Siztenboots) remap my tubby (literally this morning) - his work on a very very brief acquaintance seems good and he'll come to you to do the map. Should be good for about 260hp at the crank.
