It's been so long since Plans did my geo set up I have forgotten what it used to feel like and what I asked for when they did it. Think I asked for 'fast road' and on a scale of 1-10 about 5 or maybe I dreamt the 1-10 bit. I have contacted them for a price to do it again. The car used to feel superbly sharp on roundabouts/cornering with great turn-in etc now feels not so much or maybe psychological.

Before I decide to go over there again, can a laser 4 wheel alignment place do the geo given it was set up by Plans initially re shims etc as I don't want to change anything major really so wondered whether the laser place could replicate what was already on there/check it?

I am pleased with the rear and believe just the front n/s wheel has altered slightly due to potholes?

Failing all of that, what should I go for settings wise for 'fast road' on standard shocks, standard tyres and wheels, VX NA Stage 3? Just standard vauxhall settings.....an if so where/what are they?

I think I have a printout from Plans of the geo on my car. I can dig that out if you like. I think it is fast road as well. NA on standard wheels and tyres but Ohlins shocks

I probably wouldn't pay for a full geo, just get the toe sorted on all 4 wheels. Camber can't change without changing the shims unless you've broken something?

What's the ideal camber setting for these cars using the shims for fast road/track?  Whist I have my suspension apart I'd rather reshim myself if possible whilst I am there.

Have you put on weight over time? ;) As per James's comment, if you want to limit the outlay in the hope of a quick fix... get the toe looked at. Remember tyre pressures and condition will have an impact...

just fit a new set of track rods and get the front set to 0' straight ahead, all the cambers will be okay. the TRE are cheap and more like a consumable with road use.

if you have something else bent, or worn like a BJ, then its pointless having a special geo done.

This will give a GUIDE as to a potential effective combination of settings... but probably shouldn't be treated as a rule! http://wiki.seloc.org/a/Geo_Setups

Sorry, had a good look and don't have anything.

I did find a load of original sales material for the VX220 though. I'll stick pictures in a new thread

you have probably just got used to the settings, they will of just toe'd out the front a bit giving this impression of excellent turn in,. but usually with loads of toe out you feel you can enter a corner quite fast but will end up running wide on corner exit.

Thanks for the pointers. I purchased a new pressure gauge the one that won the autoexpress best buy http://www.autoexpre...2016-group-test  and have also realised the pressures on the tyres were way too low as well.

Not wishing to hijack the thread but got my first VX220 NA track day coming up - what pressures should I be using at the start, and aiming for when hot?  I bought TD wheels with used Avon ZZR's from Strugs on here and so no idea what pressures to use.

Thanks

Andy, have a read of this. I used to start the ZZRs with 23F/25R & adjust from there to get to around the recommended optimum hot pressures. The ZZRs also take 2-3 laps to get some heat into them https://www.lotuscup...tyres-avon-zzr/

Perfect. Thank you. Car is in for a Geo right now and will post up the settings and how it feels after the track day on the 25th.
