After 14 amazing years, having had some cracking adventures and met some amazing people, Vinnie has gone.

A really nice guy called Glen came to see it after I pm'd him, loved it bought it, and picked it up, just a few hours later last night.

It came from Essex and is going back home it seems.

The car has been brilliant, it had a period of challenges over the last year or so, but ended up in good shape, mainly due to fantastic help from a few very special people on here. 

I initially bought the car for just one summer, but it was immediately loved by both daughters (one in particular who many know) and to have discovered track days and had such a laugh with many of you, and, as a special bonus,  spent so much extra time with Lauren due to it, has been great. I will always have amazing VX memories.

 

Onward now with the new toy and more adventures to come, hopefully still with many of you (I will always be a VX'er who just happens to own a Lotus).

 

I only hope now, that one day, I don't see my vx coming past my new car on track, just as it has done with so many other Exiges over the years!

Know what you mean there, when i crashed the VXT i felt more loss than for any other car before or since.

Know how you feel Martin, I'd had mine just a couple of months short of 14 years when I sold it and still look at the photos of it leaving our driveway for the very last time. Still, as said before, sometimes you just know when it's time to move on. The VX surpassed by a massive margin what we expected from it when we purchased it and if we hadn't had owned one we would never have found the great social community that .org has spawned over the years. Hope the new owner gets as much pleasure from Vinnie as you did 👍. Did you warn him to expect constant cuts and scratches on his hands and arms whilst it is in his ownership. All part of the "enjoyment" 😄😄

So sad to see Vinnie go, But I have some amazing memories to hold on to. Time to enjoy the lotus now Dad, well deserved! But don't worry I no you like a project.... and you no I'm planning one on Mrs V soon so your more than welcome to help! haha. xxx

Doing one at the end of June, first week of July. Fully expect to get 20 miles south of Calais before Googling the nearest car hire place to find anything but the VX. Sorry to see it go Martin but glad it hasn't lingered to long on the driveway.

Funnily enough Paul I did mention cut hands!

It didn't linger at all, contacted him and it went very quickly indeed, almost too quickly.

The plate went with it so M 220SC lives on.
