If you could have a road set and a track set of tires on the vx what would you choose?

I have 2 sets, the plan was to have a road and track set but in reality it's turned into a summer and winter set.

Summer / track wheels TD 1.2

Federal 595 RSR's

I found these to be much better on track, they're a nice progressive tyre which helps you gain confidence, they wear well, no major heat cycles and excellent grip in the dry, grip in the wet is actually okay if you're pushing but they're not great on the road when wet.

Road / Winters

Goodyear Eagle F1's

I have been genuinely impressed by these they wear very well, ride really nicely thanks to a soft sidewall and they're incredible in the wet, you can be a bit of an idiot and get away with it. They're actually not bad on track but you will find them a bit soft when really pushing on track, there's quite a lot of lateral movement in high speed corners. Great all rounder though and the best road tyre I've used.

There's no doubt that having 2 sets is the ideal solution and in reality i'd probably go for R888R if i could afford them but it's not very practical changing wheels all the time so i would say the Eagle F1's are a good all rounder.

Out of interest, what pressures do you run them at on the road?

I went for Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 3's in the end, Black Circles were cheapest with fitting this Thursday.

How about the mickey thompson ET street radials? They are DOT approved for street use, but don't expect the best mileage especially if you are going to use them on the highway. For track use, you can always count on them.
