Took out the old ecu today, and started labelling and removing the old ecu loom. Took out the connectors to the air sensors, erg sensor, water sensor, pre cat lambda etc but came across a wire that ran out of the ecu loom and down the front of the engine. This wire splits into three by the oil filter housing. One goes to the oil filter housing itself, and the others go to the front of the block just above the starts motor. One if these has a plug to disconnect it, and I've no idea how to undo the other. So, couple of questions. What do these wires / sensors do (multiple oil pressure sensors?), and how do i disconnect the one at the front of the block? If they are oil pressure sensors, is there a new connection on the new loom to pick up this functionality? Finally, the ecu loom finished up at the big connector behind the expansion bottle. I assume I disconnect here and remove the full ecu loom, and connect the alpha one in.... Thanks... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

you can simply unbolt the knock sensor from the block - the one which has a plug to disconnect it

 

the crank sensor has a small clip near the starter motor, use a flat screwdriver to carefully lift the clip a couple of mm and if you gently pull on the cable at the same time it should come out.

 

The last wire is for the oil pressure switch, there should be a replacement on the webcon loom, if not it's easy to add another. I have loads of those plugs with the wire.
