Hi guys, A little advice if you would be so kind. Currently getting my previously standard car sorted for frolic: rs14s, engine mount inserts, abs kill Switch, new gear cables, TD 1.2s,Pro alloy intake pipe, NSS and new tyres to be fitted shortly. The aim is is to turn it into a reliable (as far as possible) track car. Now that the above is sorted I am trying to work out how best to proceed from Here. A local company will stage 1 my car for £250 but would i be better off simply removing the precat? (Car has a milltek back box) I have found what appears to be reasonably priced precat pipe on eBay for £72 which seems very good value. (Sorry don't appear to be able to post a link) Has anyone tried one of these and are they any good compared to the ones that cost about twice as much? Is there then any point in remap after precat removal? Thanks in advance, cheers ed

The cheap precat decat pipes on ebay are pretty spot on to be honest. I think MTC Motorsport now do a 3" one, about £80 delivered I think. Yes get it mapped once done to fully utilise the potential of your car. I would recommended RnD Motorsport, Rabbid Remaps or SM Tuning for this, all bloody excellent mappers and can make the most out of the Z20LET engine!

You will get a slight bump (+15bhp) in bhp just by removing the precat but will be way off getting full benefit (+50bhp).

Siztenboots on the forum is the man to ask.

If there is any more Edinburgh based VXT , then I am very happy to do a discount for both cars on the same booking date.

I've now sorted the HCBs and had a precat pipe fitted. Toelinks will be done in due course.

Had an issue with boiled brake fluid at Knockhill and it wasn't changed that long ago (oct 16 and ive not done many miles - I have basic discs and rs14s)

Do many people run synthetic fluid? Plan to get the elisepart discs in due course.

On the way back from Croft I had a management light illuminate and ive used my Op Com to get the following code: P0135

Has anyone else had an issue with Lambda sensor after fitting precat?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can get that part of the map removed if you want.

Are there any relatively straight forward bits worth doing alongside the exhaust when remapping if you want to just do it once and leave it at that? Like the hard pipe kit or enlarged inlet elbow? Already done the precat.

Not really, hard pipes etc will make little to no difference to the performance and only "improve" the look of the engine bay. Money wasted in my opinion.
