Talbot Horizon 1.3 GL.

It made 70 HP (when new) but mine must of been a lot less than that as it really struggled on the hills, poor thing.

A 1980 Rover 3500S SD1

About a month (I think) after my 17th birthday I passed my driving test and bought an avocado coloured (with - yes - a brown velour interior) example of British Leyland's finest hour.

My dad went totally mental. I am a father myself now, and finally realise why.

Mk1 lotus Cortina our dad bought for 25 quid from the scrapyard in 1979 for me and my brother as a field car!!! We were only 13 and 11 and predictably it ended up back at the scrapyard a couple of months later completely fcuked. If only we knew how much it would be worth now.😧 First road car was a HA viva 1300 in 1984. Happy days. Cheers, Jon.

Viper Green Nissan Micra.  Lovingly called 'The Green Machine'

Sister took ownership after I started uni and promptly wrote her off about 3 months later.

A yellow metro purchased for £175 with fire damage. Worked at a scrap yard for a couple of days to replace the interior, welded it up for its MOT and got 4 years of motoring from it. Then sold £150 to a foreigner.... Now that's cheap motoring 😜

My first car was a 1969 MGB GT, which incidentally I sold in the fall, after 37 years, to make room for the Speedster (VX).

Welcome!

Mark 1 Vauxhall Astra - It used to ice up on the inside in winter, it starting backfiring of its own accord if getting hot in traffic and randomly the gearbox would loose the ability to select any gear when you wanted to pull off. SH&*y SH&^y bang bang
