The cot off line I currently have with my HID's are crisp and never had any issues with dazzling.

H1's ordered now to fit the projector.

How would you know you have issues dazzling?

The simple fact is that halogen projector cut off lines look like this (excuse reversed image- this is LHD example)

While xenon projector cut off looks like this:

By design, the halogen unit throws more light above the horizontal as the assumption is that halogens have less ability to illuminate and therefore need to deliberately light the verge and signs. xenons do not. By fitting brighter bulbs to a halogen projector you certainly will dazzle more people because that's part of the design.

True, I'm just going off the fact that I've never had anyone flash. Ahh I've never noticed the difference in the projector's.

I retrofitted projectors into my Fabia reflector units and they had the xenon projector cut off.

Worth a punt to see what they're like. If there no use I'll stick them in the Corsa.

The halogens have the ___ pattern to light up the road signs on the left, surely if the HIDs/LEDs flat beam pattern isn't any higher than the flat part of the halogen section then there shouldn't be an issue, just wouldn't have the road signs lit up as much

Cheap LED's from Ebay, picked these as there are no big heat sinks/fans sticking out the back. Will probably shorten the life span, but only wanted to try them out to see if modern LED's would be effective:

Next installed one to see if it worked & what sort of light output would be. Please be very careful when removing your headlights as if you drop one...you will be crying!!

Posted Image

All went smoothly in the back of the light cluster, though not much room to accommodate a larger design with extra cooling fins/fans etc

Posted Image

Osram side lights and DRL's only

Posted Image

Dipped beam (4.3K 30W HID's)

Posted Image

Full luminance

Looks OK in daylight, but won't know how well they perform in the dark until tomorrow night. Will be happy if they last for a while though, I don't have main beam on that much so we'll see. Based on the light output I reckon these would be good in the dip beam and if one of my HID's fails will be switching to LED

Thanks for posting, most appreciated! U got a link to the bulbs? Wonder if these would last as main lights? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fitted one for a look just now. Off side is LED and near side is xenon. Pain to fit as the fan gets in the way. This will give a quick look, will see if I get a better one against the back of my garage door. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Look pretty similar in the pics, which would you say was better? How much of a pain is the fan on the LED bulb?

The LED appears a bit brighter and white rather than blueish like the xenon.

I had to take the full light unit out to fit it and use a set of long nose pliers to clip in the original retention spring. The fan part sticks out past where the normal rubber cap would go.

Hopefully I can get a better pics off the cut off line in the next couple of days

Thanks for the update.. I'll hold off the purchase until you've had a chance to take a pic of the beam pattern..  thumbsup

For those who daily drive, that fan could become a point of failure!

if you went 5000k for the HID they are pretty much white, good comparison for beam pattern though, what about distance?

I've never experimented with LED's in the VX but I've swapped my van and my car's lights over the LED's and I've only had good results.  I 'daily driver' a 2008 Lancer I I replaced all with 8000 lumen bulbs off Amazon, all with fans (except the main beams), they are bright, VERY VERY bright, at the wrong angle these things blind you and I get flashed, but if I put the adjuster/angler down to '0' it solves the other people flashing me.  This is also true in my Fiat Scudo Van, however I do get flashed from car drivers, I put this down to height of the light as well as brightness.

I have come up behind several people in the past in my Lancer and people have covered there rear view mirror!  Which in the VX I suppose wouldn't really be a problem with it being so low down.
