Will 235 rear tires fit the vx on standard 17" alloys. Thanks

I think even 245 might fit, but each car is different due to clam position. You may get some rubbage, you may need to space the wheel out etc. Also bear in mind that different manufacturers have different carcass shapes, ie one 235 tyre can be quite a lot wider/angular than another.

 

Eg V70a has a sharp right angle tread to sidewall, R888 wsidewalls buldge a lot, RSR 595 have straight sidewalls and nicey rounded wall to tread.

lee, haggi and some others have used wide alloys with 235's on and there has been no issues, whether 235's will fit on the alloys i dont know 100%, i think that they will but done take my word for it.

I also ran 235 federal without issue But this could be down to the stiffer side wall

I think some had issues with fitting a 235/40 profile semi-slick tyre on a 7.5" (standard rear wheel width) but a 235/45 works ok IIRC..
