I thought it would be good to share my Supercharger issue here

 

Since a track day a few weeks ago I noticed a rattle noise from the charger on idle 

 

so today I took a closer look

Never lost boost ,  the pins still make contact without coupling !

 

....and the stink was unbearable

Bought the car with it fitted .

you can buy rebuild kits which are fairly easy to do :)

looks like its had a replacement in the past, not a good quality one either.

Yep, I had the same on a previous SC unit - the coupler fell out in chunks when I removed the pulley shaft..

 

New coupler and it was fine. I don't think the GM M62 came with the sprung coupler (out of the 3 odd I've seen, they were all solid).
