Parked up, set the alarm and went for a ride round the Greenwich park. When I came back to get in and drive home, I pressed the fob the alarm would not stop . Made myself very popular in the nice quiet park. It eventually stopped and I drove home ok. Bizarre. Any ideas?

I had this when I went to see Gary Numan at the Picturedome in Holmfirth.  Parked the car near the new tesco's and walked off to the venue.  After about 3 mins walking I could hear a car alarm going off, and thought that sounds a bit like mine.  So I trudged back, and I could hear the alarm stopping, then pausing for a bit, then going off again.

Fob would not stop the alarm, even got in and turned the engine on.  Still wouldn't stop.

After about 15 alarm cycles, it stopped.  Went to concert and on the drive home, the alarm would randomly go off when driving!!  Very embarrasing.

When I got home, it was still playing up, so I locked and unlocked (central locking) about 5 times, and it's behaved since.

I suspect that the new tesco's has some sort of wireless/wifi alarm/survelillance system and that upset the bloody stupid alarm module.

Mine does that if I set it at home and someone rings my doorbell. IIRC I open the drivers door and press the button to fix it

Remove the microwave box behind the seats. No more interference problems.

Also the door switches get corroded and it pisses the larm off no end. I drove most of the M4 with the alarm going off once

Battery fine . Suspect the fob battery is about to die. . Will replace and try using the alarm again.
