So emailed black circles. Very concerned and would like me to drop the car in to the centre so they can look at the car and tyre.
Not that I don't trust them, but for clarity I'm thinking maybe I should try get another tyre centre to look at the damaged tyre first?
Had a closer look over the weekend and what I thought maybe caused the puncture looks to be a rock stuck in the tread.
I'll get some better pics up later.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Looking at the size of the stone, it hasn't caused the puncture.

Late update, but good news, Black Circles did replace the tyre in the end and had it fitted by a different shop.
This was after taking the car back to the original garage who did the usual "not our fault", "I've got 30 years of fitting tyres", "on my BMW it just works" bullshit. Massively unhelpful.
They didn't offer to check the rest of the tyres to make sure they were reporting correctly. The other shop checked and all TPMS sensors and they were all reporting the wrong corners.
On inspection the original garage had damaged the TPMS/valve, when you pushed on the stem lightly you could hear air leak out. The other shop tried tightening it but didn't help. Once they removed it you could see it'd been damaged.
So when they tyre wasn't moving or at low speeds it sealed fine, but once you got to speed and the valve moved around or the rotational force made the valve lean over a bit, it leaked out the air.
anywhoo, there you go

Speaking to my tyre fitter he tells me that TPMS are quite easy to damage as they are a solid unit so don't have the tolerance of a rubber valve. He recons that even putting on a pump too aggressively can damage the seal.
