All, need to fit the new throttle pedal tonight and then it's nearly all done. At the pedal end there is an additional bracket that holds the cable shroud and adjuster nut. I can't see where to mount this, do I need to drill two new holes in the aluminium section near where the pedal mounts? Mat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Worst job, I've felt sick both times I've had to do work upside down in the footwell.

Thanks Gaffer - I assume you had to drill the chassis rail to fit it there? Please tell me you had an issue with the pedal mechanism and they aren't all that slack..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vocky installed it, hopefully he will see this post soon. I'm not sure which part you mean but the cable bracket seems to be fixed to the side if the tub on a lip near all the orange glue that fortunately is still orange. Did you know that when it changes colour it means your car's chassis has expired? One of the bolts comes loose from excessive use of heal and toe. A hex nut has resolved the issue.

I've heard that smearing natural yoghurt over it will protect the glue from changing colour thus extending the lifespan of the chassis. Amanda Holden is rubbing it into my seams as we speak.😄😄😄😄

you do need to drill a couple of 4mm holes for the mounting bolts, be careful you don't scratch the chassis with the drill chuck.

The pedal is not supposed to be loose :P

All installed.... Didn't realise how much extra pedal travel there would be over the standard. Are there any issues with over stressing the mechanism? The pedal doesn't quite bottom out, so at full throttle the ITBs are the only think taking the full pressure from the pedal. I remember on my Westfield there was a throttle stop to ensure this didn't happen as it could result on a damaged spindle on the carbs.... Any issues on the vx? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

well done - I bet you will ache in the morning!

Mine bottom's out so maybe you're not getting full throttle?

I would fit a throttle stop somewhere under the pedal. I would not want to put the throttle bodies and cable under much stress. I like my pedal to hit the chassis at WOT.

I think Dave Hardwick does a geared pedal so you can reduce the pedal travel if you wanted.

either fit a throttle stop or adjust the cable so it hits the chassis

snapping the throttle cable is not something you want to do
