For those of you lucky enough not to be on Twatbook and who have been tremendous support to me through the forum over the years, I've decided to move on. There have been a lot of changes for me personally over the last 4 years, most of which were for the worse and I felt my life had become very stale. So this morning I was offered, and I've accepted, a position in Amman, Jordan. Initially for 7 months but with an opportunity for a full 4 year posting after that. Incredibly excited but so much to organise to be there by the beginning of July! The VX however won't be going anywhere except into storage. Special thanks to PaulCP for sharing with me the details of the company he has used and to whom I'll be entrusting a standard blue and biscuit VX.

Congratulations Ken, only been to Jordan to visit Petra and other touristy bits whilst we were living in Jeddah but didn't seem a bad place back then. Hope the storage company works out for you👍

At first 'I've decided to move on' bit of a shock to the system...thoughts of another one moving to the dark side! However, after moments of trepidation much relieved that you are really not leaving the flock.

 

Best wishes for the next posting, I've always worked overseas and enjoyed every moment. Jorden, got to be a good position  in the general sphere of the middle east, plus its a bit of a biscuit coloured landscape, you'll feel at home there!....Oman would be my other choice.

I went to Amman in March 2016 and was amazed to find snow there - so don't forget to pack some thermals!
