Really, a UFC fighter to take on one of the great boxers at his own game? I think he will be lucky to land a punch on mayweather

Exactly. The whole thing is a cynical money making exercise for everybody involved and has nothing to do with being a competitive fight.

It will be hyped to bits, people will pay up to see a circus, and then be p1ssed off when the fight itself is an apalling mismatch.  :ffs:

Me too

$100m each.

Jesus wept. I'll be checking the odds as to whether a 'punch' gets laid on Money in the first round at least (if at all)

Take it he won't be allowed to use MMA then, just boxing?

He is essentially the Mayweather of MMA (not even that good TBH). Too arrogant to realise that when he plays a different game against the best in the world he won't stand a chance. FM fights are normally boring to watch anyway unless you are really into the technical aspects of boxing, this one is going to be a proper snoozefest.

McGregor is the best (and most amusing) mind-fsck expert around. The only caveat is that Mayweather hasn't fought for 2 years and is at an age where depreciation can set in alarmingly - remember he's a skilful, fast, box-fighter.

I reckon a 12 round shut out to Mayweather (120-108) would be worth a punt.

PPV and 5am then

Might give that a miss, especially as McGregor says it's going to last 20 seconds  :tt:

Trash talk has been predictable although I did appreciate the 'shirt'

I wouldn't be surprised if McGregor gets so frustrated he fouls his way to an intentional disqualification. He won't just quit on his stool as that'll be a career wrecking move.

To be honest it was a great fight not what I expected at all. McGregor constantly switching styles had Mayweather on the defensive for a long time. In the end fitness was the key, 8th round onwards it was only going one way.

Honestly I thought Floyd carried him for the whole fight.

He literally gave the first 3 rounds away (did he throw a punch in 1 and 2??) and dumbed his style down by 50% just to make it look barely competitive.

Floyd bet on himself to stop Mcgregor before half way through the 10th round, and when was it stopped ? Just before half way in the 10th!!

Mismatch. Farce.

It was obvious Floyd was never troubled but he certainly spent more time weighing up McGregors style the he usually does. To his credit McGregor did box fairly well and other than the few taps on the top of the head was pretty fair. He took the punishment well at the end and I was really surprised he didn't go down.

Two judges had FM winning rounds 2-10...
