Think I need a new alternator for my Turbo, have found a Bosch unit at Euro Car Parts which seems a reasonable price, but does anyone know how accurate their database is for the VX? Is the one listed the correct one? This is the one I was looking at:

Is the standard fit item a Bosch as well?

Never had any problems with any of their stuff (also try carparts4less with a discount code for even cheaper price)

I still can't make up my mind to have a go myself or not, although it will save me a fair wad if I can do it! Assuming you did the exchange thing, do you just take the old alternator into a ECP branch? Was the standard alternator that came off a Bosch unit?

Thanks for the offer, but I think, judging that this seems to be a bit of a pita job, I'm going to put a new one on. Just out of curiosity though, what make is the one you have?

yeah no problem, thats fine I understand

I have 2, one is a 100amp and the other a 120amp.

But I'm not sure if one is for an NA.

The 100 amp is defo a Bosch one, I'd have to check the other

Why not get your existing one refurbed?? Had mine done when it packed in, it cost about £60.00...

Would be nice to get it refurbed, but if I do it myself I would want to get it removed and fitted in one go, and if I don't do it myself then I won't have that option anyway.
