Has anybody had problems when their compomotive wheels get hot the centre caps fall off?

I've the mo's with the aluminium centres and no issue here

Yep, had it twice now. I thought drilling a small hole in the middle of the O fixed it at my last track day, but lost one just after the day. I think its the poor quality of fitment more than anything else. I want to experiment with diffirent make ones and see if that helps

they get hot and pop off... the plastic and whatever metal the wheel is made from expand at different rates.

 

There is a video of one of mine firing off over Captian Vines car at croft lol poof

Placing a metal ring inside the clips to stop them folding onwards may help. They are a pretty crap design though, and the plastic is shockingly cheap

I'm not near the car at the minute.. can anyone who is check the diameter of the cap I need to replace it? I seem to recall the bore of the centre of the wheel is 60mm?

clip them to the wheels then tiger the inside

Or just buy Speedlines that have proper centre caps and look much better (wheels and caps) :lol:

I can confirm that putting a metal ring inside the caps stops them falling off on trackdays 👍

https://simplybearin...html?backstep=1 I cut slots in the ridges with a Dremmel inside the caps to stop the rings popping off

Thats the sort of thing i wanted to do, saved me looking for them rings which i had no idea what they were called
