Having felt a bit like a rolling roadblock at Pembrey I've decided to increase my confidence levels by doing a couple of airfield days before another 'proper' track. I've done Abingdon with Motorsport Events several times but it's sold out until towards the end of Sept. However, they have just put Lyneham in their calendar for the 5th August so I'm booked on! Don't even know what the track layout is going to be yet, but at £140 on a Saturday it seemed too good to miss!

Anyone else fancy it?

I can recommend Bedford GT circuit for getting your confidence up.

I do fancy trying Bedford but I think their noise limits would be an issue for me (SC'ed with Larini!)..

Can't imagine they'll be many other VXs other than ours, but - just case - mine's the Calypso Red one with black tubby ears..

MSE are a good TDO so I'm confident the layout will be entertaining enough. The surface should be OK, too, as it's not that long stopped being an operational RAF base..

From the MSE Facebook page the layout will be.. "almost 2 miles, flowing, excellent surface.."

And now it's sold out..  :)

It was pretty good actually, good layout. Quite technical. Reasonable surface overall (although quite abrasive in places), with surface changes and a couple of bumps to keep you on your toes! Weather was atrocious in the afternoon (hail and thunder!) which made it even more challenging! Slight faff with the paddock being inside the track and no access when the track's live, but that's by no means unique. I'm always impressed with MSE as a TDO as well. Overall, recommended.

But I do see less sh*t driving on MSE days than with other TDOs I've experienced, and have been at Abingdon when they have kicked someone off for driving standards..
