Hi  Iv'e Iooked  on here for info re the Parking brake (Handbrake adjustment). Is it easy to do, I assume bottom alloy has to be removed

from under the car. My Handbrake seemed to be working okay then we went to France last week and it was from the Ferry that it stopped working. I did leave the handbrake off during the winter and assumed this to be a good move. Not so sure now. It is pulling up but is not right ,car still moves with it on. Any advice would be gratefully accepted. Thanks

. PS car has only done 23,000 just and got full service so not abused.

There is an adjuster under the middle under tray.

Could be one of the calipers mechanism has failed Mine did this and one day my handbrake was fine then the next I had full travel on the lever Worth jacking up see if one side is of and one isn't Either that or the cable may be broken they don't normally stretch overnight

Scary Internerd .What you have described sounds similar to mine. So I did check the calipers but being used to old cars I was stumped by the mechanism actuating the caliper cylinder. Are they expensive new? Is it possible to get new seals etc? Maybe its the spring on the back? Thanks again for info.

If you pull the caliper lever by hand it should have about 10mm of movement. If one has seized it won't budge. The rears are difficult to rebuild and sometimes not possible at all. new ones at ~£220+vat. Think there's a group buy going on atm. Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk

If you need refurb calipers have a search for jay Evans on Facebook don't know his name on here think it's vx220 jay he does refurb units What you will find it it's broken is you can move the lever by hand in the direction the cable pulls it but even fully rotated the disc will still spin ( jack it up remove wheel don't forget to choc wheels stop it rolling off the jack
