Just come back from a great trip to Normandy, 6 guys, 3 cars, Vx220 Turbo, Exige and an Alfa 3.0 spider. Roofs off and 4 days of sunny driving on great, beautifully surfaced roads. We stayed in Ouistreham which for a French town was  real surprise, having a great beach, beach bars, plenty of restaurants and shock horror, bars actually open after 10, and it seemed willing to stay open a lot later than that.

The French always seem to love sports cars (as they seem so rare there) and the VX as ever gets a huge amount of interest and the three of us made a good sounding noise wherever we went!.

The excuse was to visit the 5 D day beaches and other related sites. Did 400 miles all in and can recommend Normandy for some good driving.

The D Day coast is well worth a vist to see what an incredible thing they did. Omaha and point du hoc really bring it home and the commonwealth war graves near Oustreham is well worth the visit.

Sounds possibly a gloomy idea but wasn't and, was very much about seeing where it went on and paying respects for what they did, plus having a good drive around all followed by a 'few' beers and some good grub.

Highly recommend it (watch 'The longest day' before you go.)

If you're ever in holland again, there was a big tank battle in Overloon.

Huge amount of material left during that battle, now in the museum.

There's so much to see, it's best get out there and just drive.  Pegasus Bridge and the Gondray Cafe are must sees, but the beaches, St. Mere Eglise, Merville Battery etc etc

Attended the funeral of a relatives husband last Thursday, went ashore at Sword.....

They're paper copies, they're in the form of tulip diagrams. It is a tour around the northern part of Normandy taking in sights which include some of the war places. The pack includes A3 maps which I can't scan. Best if I loan them to you, I will be going to BoT tomorrow, can you pick up from there?

Cheers Chris. I'm in Spain for a couple of weeks but could grab them when I'm back if you're in no mad rush for them back? I can scan them in at work and then get them back to asap?
