195/45/17 Hankook V12 is the best think I've done to this car.

I believe that Bridgestone Potenzas were the original fit. That's what I've put on. Available, but not readily. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

I have run 195/45/17s on the front for years.  Much better selection, and in my opinion the bridgestones compound are a bit hard for a RWD light car like the VX.

Had Goodyear Eagle F1s for the past 7 years, and now about to put on a set of conti 5 on the car

You can still get front Bridgestones its a bit of a myth that they were discontinued. They appear to be manufactured a little sporadically but they are out there.

Very true i did find one supplier who still do them but £175 each is a bit pricy. Especially as this car has only done 500 miles in the last 4 years..

The oem bridgestones were being manufactured still as late as 2014 when I bought some. They changed the pattern code as they had to recert them for new tyre regs. Tyre is unchanged though.

No brainer then? Go for continental 3's? Best place to get them seems to be Black Circles? 👍

Late reply but in case anybody sees it I contacted Hankook & they say their 195/45/17 isn't suitable for 5.5j rims needs a minimum of 6j with 6.5 preferred. They referred to the European Tyre & Rim Technical Organisation recommendations which are online. I imagine all manufacturers do the same. Continental also have a technical sheet where the minimum for 195/45/17 is 6 rim. I know from browsing this combination works for you all but there may be implications for insurance liability if using tyres outside manufacturers spec.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but was looking at fitting these Nankang NS-2R 195/45/17 to the standard front 5.5j turbo alloys. Does anyone have experience of fitting this combo? I have read the NS-2R have stiff side walls, wondering if these will be suitable?
