I know Jon Seal raves about these.

I don't know if they work in the wet though.

Jon or anyone else, are these usable in the wet???

Kind regards, Paul

I know you used to run the ad08 but the new ad08r seem quite good in the wet if that helps 👍

They're the control tyre in Compact Cup.  I bought a set of TDs with them on.  They don't have the outright grip of the usual semi-slicks, the upside is the price and they last far longer.  To answer your question, they don't have the water clearing abilities of 'normal' tyres and will lift in shallower puddles than Bridgestones (for example).  For that reason, I won't fit my leftovers to Mrs P's car.  That currently runs on the Marangoni option 'wet' tyre from a couple of seasons ago.

They are absolutely fine on wet roads with a nice smooth breakaway.  I have no issue using them as an all season tyre, I just wouldn't send the wife out on them - does that make sense?  Biggest problem I have with them is that they won't die.  I want to put a proper track tyre on these rims and they don't wear out :ffs:

My latest AD08's are the R version. They have been on the car for around 2 years. Not sure if the previous ones were R or not but in my opinion these are amazing wet tires. Unfortunately they are not available as 195/50 X 16. I am looking for less unsprung weight and better feel. When driving I sometimes feel the AD08R is a blunt instrument. Lots of grip but edgy, following cambers, does not like broken surfaces. AD08R is a great tire but I feel there is something better out there as a street tire. Sorry for the americanisums but I have worked in industries that follow the USA spellings for so long it becomes hard to revert back. So to conclude I can't imagine a Bridgestone would live with an AD08R in the wet. And as stated a Bridgy is better than a NS-2R in the wet I am no further forward. Thanks all, Paul
