i didnt expect that to happen, and it looks like that deal has paved the way for redbull to separate from renault and maybe take porsche or VW engines

from reports that I've been reading Renault will not be renewing with Red Bull so currently they are going to be forced into having Honda engines regardless if they want them or not

there will be options with Porsche and VW after the current hybrid 1.6 turbo have finished

i also ross brawn and the the powers above want to cut short the current engine configuration early forcing mercedes out

unless they want to play on a fair platform

the new engines are not until 2020 though isn't it? meaning red bull will have to go with Honda for at least 1 season (2019)

watch this space,

it will happen at the end of next year if honda, renault and ferrari get together for a new engine

the only thing that will stop this is if ferrari beat mercedes (unlikely )but then again if ferrari beat mercedes they might go for new engine formula before mercedes come back

i think new engine will be here in 2019 latest

would be surprised if both VW and Porsche join as they are essentially the same group so a bit of a money waste
