Quick apology to the guys who've been PM'ing me, particularly about the heater, I'm not ignoring everyone.
We have been in California for three weeks now, but on the third day we got robbed and lost all our tech, MacBooks, iPads, passports etc so nothing else has mattered for a couple of weeks.
We're pretty much sorted now, got emergency documents and have started replacing our gear, but we lost decades of holiday pictures and all my car photos which we're gutted about (and my backup drive was taken too).
So our holiday of a lifetime sucked big hairy balls the first week, though the people here have been unbelievable, even laying on huge RVs for us to stay in at different places along the coast for free.
Back on Friday though, then we'll see how good holiday insurance really is
