you have three options when using the OEM blanking plate;

 

1 - drill a hole in the blanking plate so the EGR valve can still open and close

2 - space the EGR up from the blanking plate so it can still open and close

3 - swivel it over the side so it can still open and close

You need to be wary about the new MOT requirements and EGR too, but it is still early days to see what that will mean in reality...

Think your fairly safe with a heavily modified car. Amount of extras will easily confuse your average MOT tester.

A standard 2.2 with its sparce engine bay may be more of a target.
