I was reading about this on they Regelin web site and wonder if this could be the problem with my boost cutting at times from 3 to 3.5 ? Any thoughts.

 

 

Forge Upgraded Wastegate Actuator

Unfortunately, the Z20LET chargers are delivered with a very weak wastegate actuator from stock. Additionally, their springs become more and more weak during lifetime. Boost-breakdown is the result - especially at tuned engines.

Yes. Try asking to borrow one you know for sure works.

Well not to many about here in scotland ... I've owned a VXT before and definitely didn't drop boost like this before so there is a fault somewhere just got to figure out what it is :-)

I would check all the vac are correct and leak free / no perished split rubber connectors etc. Worth also checking the static break off point of the actuator as this may need a bit more preload if a touch weak Tue boost solenoids allow the extra boost to held so also these to check Lastly the recirc itself rule out Ran stock actuator on vxr turbo without any issues tbh DG

Try moving the WG actuator manually to check it isn't sticking.
