Bless him...my Dad was picking up the VX to get fit replacement rear calipers, handbrake cables and also get it MOT'd later this week.

However, he has just told me he's managed to break the bonnet release lever...pulled it straight back ratther than down to right.

So, where can I get a replacement from??

Thanks all

Liz on here has two advertised in her parts section listing.  Get over their quickly before I buy them and then offer them to you for double the price!  :)

Also check whether It is actually broken rather than just detached.

Mine's been a bit wonky for ages but I sort of bent everything back to about the right place and now, so long as I'm careful to only pull to the left, it's fine.  Better than lying upside down in the footwell to replace the weedy thing with another the same!

Use a Land Rover Discovery cable and mount it in an easily accessible place. It will only break again otherwise.

You have to make a simple L bracket to fit

So, I've just done this (the LR Disco replacement route) and it's really, really tough. The whole thing has been greased-up to death but still it's almost impossible to pop the bonnet using the new cable. The Mechanism is free and moves easily by hand but try pulling the lever to activate and it's almost a two man job. I've got my trusty local Indy garage looking at it now but they're at a loss too. Any ideas ?
