I have looked through plenty of posts from various forums but cant seem to be able to find a straight answer...

 

What is the shortest possible F23 final drive box suitable for a VXR engined vx220?

 

I used a Mavira f23 1.5 diesel box when putting together my vx as it was cheap (free) and I reckon it has a ratio of about 1.3 its that long!

 

Im after a 4.1 ish cwp or as close if possible, any ideas what car I need to look out for as a donor?

Hi,

 

It should be code SQ it's a short ratio gear set with 4.17 final drive.

What's a Mavira 1.5 diesel? Maybe you mean Meriva 1.7 diesel? In that case FD ratio is 3,842.

The 4:17 box was found to be too short for a high powered turbo and it actually made the car slower. I think the zafira GSI box was the one to go for.
