So, I think my current system is too boomy - although when accelerating it sounds like a motorbike, which is pretty cool

Now I am after swapping the complete system for something a little more subtle but the searching and emailing has not been too succesful

I have been asking companies about decibel reading at idle and under acceleration and only 1 manufacturer had a figure - which was taken around 8 years ago

Milltek - no longer producing vx systems - all data has been archived  (gutted, I have had milltek on a previous z20let car and i loved the tone)

2bular - Jim says he doesn't do a vx system anymore

Larini - several reviews suggest this system is quite loud

Tullet - tested 8 years ago, at ¾ rpm we were around 90dB

are there any other brands still available or am I limited to Larini & Tullet

I could go to a universal exhaust centre - I just don't think I will be happy with what I get.......

Car came with a 3" aftermarket (universal) system

I was considering getting something along the lines of

Pre cat - removed, 200 cell sports cat

Adding a silencer might be a good alternative though - defo going to save some money that way too

It's a good question, but I doubt you'll get a meaningful/accurate answer from any companies. :(

Exhaust noise (ie dB) will generally go up as flow (ie power) increases, so your state of tune is also part of the noise equation. I did some design and noise testing on my own design, it might be of some use to you if you intend to get a 3rd party exhaust made: https://sites.google.../exhaustdesign/ (click on the left hand side menu for various topics).

Now, you might have put a piece into my puzzle - I read somewhere about MMG performance and some one of something referred to as DH -  wonder if there is a connection here

FMS makes full exhaust for a relativ cheap price. Fitment is not so good. (maybe it's better now?) https://www.mk-sport...KW-M941195-X3-x Krep makes top exhausts. They make a 90mm full exhaust also... https://www.google.b...1AqbC42C4U7XzU6
