Hi all,

Due to leaving the country soon the time has come to sell my VX.

Unfortunately, just before I could put it on the market I had a little incident - back end was stepping out on a corner and I over-corrected taking me onto the grass on the side of the road, most of the damage was done to the front clam - most damage done to the area around the number plate and underside, damage near offside fog light and cracks around places it is bolted to the car. Also needed a new offside fog light bracket, there were a few small cracks in the radiator housing and the rear diffuser has been bent.

Due to a silly quote from a garage for the repair work, the insurance company decided this was a CAT C write off (which i thought seemed extreme considering the damage - there is a CAT D on ebay at the moment which looks a lot worse).

I bought it back from the insurer with the intention of repairing it myself and selling. As I thought the damage to the clam was reasonably minor I decided to repair the clam, with hindsight with my time frame i should have just bought a new clam and sold the existing one for repairs.

Although I have pretty much finished repairing the clam it still needs final prep work and painting, the radiator housing needs repairing/replacing and the rear diffuser needs repairing/replacing (this has replaced the undertray so would need to replace with another diffuser or just an undertray).

No damage to headlights though could do with a refurb.

Just gauging interest at the moment, is there anyone wanting a project in its current state? (minor repairs needed and currently no MOT). If you are interested, if you pm me your email address I can send you pictures of the damage before and the current state of repairs.

I will continue to work on it and once it has the repairs and MOT I will repost/update this thread and add some pictures though still might not be painted at this point - ideally need to sell this by the end of the month.

Some info;

77500 Miles

Hardtop and softtop

Nitron suspension

Had cylinder head, water pump and chains replaced by vocky in 2015

2.4L manifold, custom intake pipe and Apexi filter (still have original manifold and pipe if want to swap back)

Miltek exhaust

Vibra-technics engine mounts

Alloy radiator

Brake disks and pads recently changed - mintex pads all round, ep tuning discs on the front

Toe links and hub carrier bolts recently changed for uprated parts and geo done at Matthew Bentley Racing

Currently has black NA wheels but will include the original Lighting yellow alloys (Anthracite?)

Infinity Kappa component speakers (tweeters mounted in dash) with JBL amp.

In its current state £6500 (no MOT)

Would rather not break so will likely put it into storage if it doesn't sell.

Thanks for looking.

To update the status:

The car now has an MOT, with a few advisories which I am not going to have the time to fix;

 - Lower ball joint on the nearside wishbone has slight play – recommended replacing the ball joint.

 - The CV boot on the Nearside driveshaft is deteriorating – needs replacing.

 - The headlight brackets are a bit off - these were snapped in the incident and repaired so will probably need re-aligning (or replacing if it is possible to get these parts separately).

Due to time restraints I will need a very quick sale on it (the buyer will need to collect the car by Tuesday).

I have some new pictures (sorry for the awful shots in the dark, I ran out of light);

Also to mention - I have had an unfortunate incident with a jack which put a hole in the offside sill.

I am repairing this but will not have time to paint:
