I know that it won't fit the "hoon" ideals but you could check out the Ireland tours on this website http://www.sceniccartours.com/ for ideas of routes, distances, hotels etc

Interestingly enough, I had put together a draft route and it virtully covers their Grand Ireland tour, including tourist stops, what they do in 13 days, we will do in 3 (or 4) !!
