What happened after the 10th day?!

I sold it for a healthy profit, due to the limited deliveries at the time prices went crazy it was too tempting. I dont think retaining 80% of its value in 18 months is that bad? The mk2 values similarly dropped in 2011-13 and came back again the mk1s dropped even more but have recently recovered. I dont expect the mk3 to ever be as sought after as the mk2 due to the mk2 being more limited/numbered, but it will be a future classic without doubt.

I had a run out in one as historically I've loved fast Fords. It had the optional fixed wingback seats which yet again didn't have any height adjustability and I found the seating position to high. However it's now been addressed apparently with the availability of different seat bases. I think the latest gen on the global platform is a great car but won't hold its head as high as the Mk2 in the long run.

Now official recall but its widely believed that Ford mucked up and fitted the Mustang gasket to the RS by mistake on a number of cars....

From what I've read there is an official recall for USA and Canada, but yet to be announced to the UK. As above, it is to change headgasket for all cars and change cylinder heads on those cars that require it.

Is the engine a completely new one? Seems odd for them to make such a basic mistake and to have not detected it during endurance testing.

Had a read up about the matter. Apparently the factory installed the wrong gasket completely.

I bet the process control manager for the engine production line got a bit of a rocketing! Imagine how much this is going to cost Ford.

At least they've come clean about the matter finally and are remedying it.

Its not uncommon because to admit fault you need to offer a fix, and to do that you need to investigate it and come up with a fix. I would imagine that they found the issue a long time ago but had to replicate it in a test cell and prove the fix. They would also need to prove the leak test worked to identify head issues. All that takes time, an engine test can take three months just to replicate the problem.

I bet the development engineers were wondering how this slipped through after all the miles they put on the prototypes, damn supply chain quality engineers!!!
