There are lots (at least some) that do the yearly tripp to "bilprovningen" with chargers on. I have done it myself two times and not a word about the charger. The last time the guy even asked to see the engine because he was interested. His conslusion was "cool".

I think the trick is that our cars are really unusual for the people there to see. They might know that Lotus often use engines from other brands and if they really know their stuff they might even know of a charged Lotus. If you try to make the installation as OEM looking as possible I can't se why it should be a problem.  Since the charger is OEM (from another GM car) it really looks OEM.

The dutch software gives you the oportunity to "de tune" your car once a year if you want to.

ITB's will be more easy to spot, I think.

Generally, does anyone know if there is a (ahem) MoT calibration that would assist those who have a thing that looks like a cat, but contains not cat.. Or does it not work like that..

It is just a case of swapping a few wires around in the plug. I assume you will have a TB loom extension if running the Dbilas currently? Well remembered Smiley

I got an extension to TB loom, it's about 20cm long. I have not installed intaket yet

I have a similar aim for mine. Currently have itbs fitted, piper cans and 4-1 manifold with vse backbox. Plan for later this year is port and skim the head (Vocky), diblas springs, and add a 2.5” Tullett down pipe and cat, but keep the VSE backbox. Hoping for close to 200bhp... Was considering stage 2 cams to, but the power is pretty similar upto 7000rpm, so not sure it’s worth it for road use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would have said the biggest benefit of these types of mods is that the car will have a more rev hungry character as befitting this kind of car.

Sadly it's very very hard, if not impossible to pass a cat test without a cat, as the cat does actually facilitate science.

That’s what you’ll get by fitting Dbilas N/A inlet manifold, 68mm Throttle body, Dbilas race cams, Bosch 470cc injectors (0280156280), 2,5 exhaust with 200cell cat and Dutch ECU

You can decide whether it is worth the price.

On the N/A engine you have to improve all parts of the intake head and exhaust to get the most out of it. The above figures look correct if not using a high flow exhaust manifold and a ported head. You will get better power and much more torque with the 2.4 inlet manifold though!

Vladimir , your curves show that your torque is not yet decreasing and you power curve is still climbing....
So why did you stop it at this rev. Limit ??? There is a lot more power in your engine.

What sort of Torque does the Z22 Make when you Spec it up to 200bhp (with the 2.4 inlet etc)?

Would Love to see the Dyno Power Curve of yours (S-express)

Thanks!

I used to use the 68mm TB on my modified z22se and also the OBD ecu software now supports it

On a similar spec I think I gained about 10BHP with a 2.4 manifold.
