Hello chaps, Its been a while since coming here (family life and job has been all consuming). Ive missed the forum. Hardly done any miles in the last 2 years :( let alone a track day so hoping to change that this year. For those who dont know me, Im one of the neanderthals who went for traction control :) When I run abs off my traction control goes mental and starts misfiring. The only solution is to turn abs on (vomit) or turn traction control off. Far from ideal.! Could it be that has been wired wrongly. At the time I forgot to mention to the fitters that I had an abs off switch. Any suggestions would be good to correct this and anyone know anyone around the Heathrow area who can fix it? Cheers

Sounds like it needs setup for your car.

Must be wired wrong as abs on or of shouldn't make any difrence to traction controll .Only 4 wires are used from the abs unit one from each hub sensor .

You don't have to plug it into a laptop to set it up just go through all the settings and set it up on Racelogic screen .

I presume it depends where your TC unit is wired into on your wheel speed sensors. The 'usual' way to disable the ABS is to effectively break the circuit for one of the wheel speed sensors (by adding a switch in on of the wires). The Racelogic system (like most 4 wheel TC systems I understand) uses the same wheel speed sensor inputs as your ABS system. So by disabling the ABS, you may be disabling the TC input. I presume it would work if the TC sensor wire was connected somewhere in the wheel speed sensor circuit before the switch. Alternatively, if you have a dodgy wheel speed sensor (we've all had them), you will get erroneous signals much like when the ABS system throws a wobbler due to the same issue..

Sounds logical :)

find out where your abs switch is in your system first mine is at the abs system itself the yellow wire sounds like yours is one of the signal wires which will send your race logic system into a misfire as it thinks you are loosing traction .

Yup, only needed to read the title to come to the same conclusion.

The off switch is a spade connector located at the front bonnet where the loom runs parallel with the radiator edge, if that makes sense. I can post a picture if that would help.

have you cut the abs sensor before the TC unit , or after ?

You can see position of the spade connector. Is this before the Tc unit (remember I am mechanical Luddite). Edit: trying to attach pic

You'll need to provide pics of where the TC wiring intersects too.

Ps.- I'm not a big fan of exposded spade connector for the likes of ABS signals - A little unseen corrosion can result in dodgy signals to the controller.
