After 12 months of ownership and having just acquired a Focus RS its unfortunately now time to part with my VX

Car has covered 55,090 miles I have full stamped service history and MOT's, bodywork is good, a couple of tiny bits of osmosis on rear wheel arch but generally good, Dark Red Leather interior is also good, no rips, I've had the cloth on the side bolster (typical wear item) on drivers seat replaced recently by car trimmers and looks like new and factory standard.

Also just completed a suspension refresh (new Bilstein shocks/springs/front anti-roll-bar bushes from Elise parts), its also recently had new drop links. TR Ends, Ball joints. Passed MOT in April 2017 with no advisories, also had a full service (Oil, brake fluid & anti freeze) and a recent battery.

All the usual fixes have been done, up rated engine mounts, new header tank, anti-rattle pins and I also had airbag & hub carrier bolt recall recently completed by local Vauxhall dealers as not completed by previous owners. Its also had a full timing chain and pulley refresh completed by Vocky and new spark plugs in June 2017 400 miles ago. Everything works on the car (including the heater which I replaced), no warning lights or electrical gremlins. I've also replaced the front light lenses as these were scratched supplied by fezzus. So needs nothing doing to it.

Modwise it has Turbo wheels and induction filter which I’ve just removed and replaced with a std airbox.

Since owning I have added some subtle mods, turbo black leather door cards and centre console, a Robin Splitter, MMG Diffuser, Side Winglets, Bonnet vents and factory hardtop in silver.

The car is listed as Category D but don't let this put you off, I bought the car back in Feb from a forum member (London25) having suffered very light front damage in a low speed incident (split front clam only - no damage to lights, Rad or Rad Surround), you will find the pictures on the forum but if not I have them. It’s a known car on the forum previously owned by Batty.

Prior to picking up the car it broke down on the previous owner (turned out to be a relay issue and faulty battery) the RAC recovered it to a Lotus specialist and in putting on the low-loader winched it by the front tow-eye pulling it out of the crash structure and resulting in the lip of the crash structure being slightly torn (no crash tube damage whatsoever) - again I have pictures documenting all the work and have retained the original crash structure to prove the damage. Knowing that I'd be keeping the car longer term and when i came to sell a Cat D with a repaired crash structure might raise a few questions I elected to replace with a brand new one direct from Lotus with new tow bracket at a cost of £1,278.

Replacement crash structure was fitted as per the Lotus repair guide and in consultation with various specialist repairers using correct, cleaner, primer and PU adhesive (Betaseal 1580/BetaPrime) significant time spent making sure this was replaced to factory standnard. It's now fully repaired. Whilst the front was off i also replaced the coolant pipes and had the rad pressure and leak tested. The new front clam with bonnet vents was purchased from a forum member (Dally) and has all been painted, during the work I also had a couple of osmosis spots on the doors treated.

The car is now 100% and I have 00’s of pictures taken throughout the work which I’ll happily pass on. I’ll also include the standard rear under tray, old blistens and induction filter.

Aim was always to keep it long term so I made sure any work was done properly. All in all I have probably spent around £3.5-4K getting the car to the condition it is now.

Car is located in Exeter, Devon and I’m looking for £8750

Anything else let me know

Cheers

Paul
