Hi all,

First post here :)

So I only had one set of keys for my 2005 VX220 Turbo - these have now been lost and I never had a red card with the car...

I have asked numerous 'auto locksmiths' but none can help as apparently the system used is more technical than the usual car...

I've read on here I need to go to a Vauxhall garage and get a red card however isn't this just one part of the issue? I need BOTH the info for the key pattern/immob inside and the alarm fob - both of which are separate?

Thanks in advance

You should be able to get both from vauxhall and then just get a lock set

Either the main dealers or another option is to replace the ECU, transponder and lockset. PM Elizp as she usually holds stock.

Then get a new alarm control box with two fobs

That ebay link set was purchased here:

Make sure to check out the "Lieferung erfolgt inkl. Codekarte. Muß ggf. vor Verwendung beim Opel Händler auf Ihr Fahrzeug codiert werden" part to see if it matches your expectations.

The Original meta alarm units were known for going off from neighbours remote garage's. Those are the kit's sold by Regelin and the one on ebay,

Then there is the "requires coding statement" on them.

In my meta link, the set is delivered in complete working order (plug and play), flashed with an updated firmware, not having the issue from my first line.

I vaquely remember this alarm swap action due to doorbell gate, but it was a long time ago.

Did people not get an updated version of the same M99 back then?

M99 was replaced with the M99T2 to stop the doorbell activation

And either are now obsolete so no longer available new unless some vendor still has some old-new stock.

Not a big issue though as the later/newer META alarm units that replace the M99T2 can usually be fitted with just a small adapter harness and often still work together with the interior microwave sensor.

They just can't be programmed/updated for different fobs with the TECH2 like the old original one, but then the normal META programming/learning setup (usually with ignition key cycle counts and LED blinks) works as an alternative.

Bye, Arno.
