I was a big Simple Minds fan back in the day. I've just been on youtube binge listening to them, including some of the tracks off the new album. I think it could be a grower.
Then I came across the track Barrowland Star and the guitar solo from 3 and half minutes in. Oh my goodness, what a track!! The crispness and control he has of the guitar is amazing. You don't get many track these days with solos in them.
Just had to share this with someone (as I sit in a hotel room on a work trip), who better than to share it with .org as I bet there are a few closet SM fans out there. 
Am now continuing my binging listening and discovered some remixes by John Somerset of their previous album, loving it, sounds so fresh.
