Are you not asking the wrong forum? 99% of us plebs couldn't even dream of an F40 unless it had a Fiero under it lol

Are we talking 991.1 gt3? I'm not sure that's such a bargain LHD Max. I would sell the F40 for daft money and get a RHD one maybe 130k if you can get one privately. Assuming you don't want pccbs that figure should be doable. I spent ages looking at these but couldn't stretch to one at the moment but maybe one day!

If you're unhappy with the F40 and GT4, sell them both and buy a GT3 RS. Surely you'd have change and more importantly less stress and you could pick the car you want?

And are we talking about a 997 GT3 RS 4.0? I cant remember if it was a recent Evo mag or perhaps Pistonheads, but they compared that car with the current 991 GT3 (just the cooking version), the conclusion being it was a significant step up in terms of performance and usability, but also it was just as enjoyable to drive. You'd only really want the 997 for the classic-ish 911 idiosyncrasies or collector value. Plus what is the offset between the F40 at market value vs. selling it privately or auction? I never like to be rushed into a car / toy purchase, so deadlines like that don't sit well with me.

I love how petrolheads, no matter the budget, still have the same struggle to choose cars :D

If he's trying to rush you and put pressure on you then it suggests that the deal is more advantageous to him than to you.

Sounds like a bit of a fanny putting that pressure on. F40 is mega mega money now so seems like he's just trying to blag himself a bargain. I'd walk away for now anyway. It's not like he can snap up another F40 if you don't sell him yours

I think this may not be the best place for advice on how to deal with a million dollar car.

Awsome car and first world problem though

Can you imagine the buyers regret if you sold the F40 and the porsche did not hit the spot.

How about one of them Dodge Demons , red with a Confederate flag on the roof

Was I alone in watching that Demon and thinking "meh"?

I don't know why, but it just left me cold.

OP - Good luck with your conundrum. Do let us know what you decide.

Fu.k, for a moment I thought it was old the 308 GT4 tin can,  then I read F40!!

Too many cars to enjoy them all. Porsches are not too rare... they are consumables that hairdressers drive. :) I'd take new RS3 for a daily and F40 for weekends, so the latter doesn't wear too much.

Actually, I think you have some very good advice in the posts above.  Having had the very good fortune to spend much of my life around, and driving, all sorts of mega exotics I would agree with whoever said buy a Radical as a track car, doesn't matter if you bend it and it is as quick as anything else you are likely to buy.  Then, for the road car, decide if you want an investment or something to enjoy driving - or both, in which case keep the F40 and buy/keep the Porsche.  And, as others have remarked, there will always be another along shortly!!

Why don't you buy a 997 / 991 Cup Car Max? Especially if you don't want to drive it on the road and trailer it to the track.

Guys, I am sure that if each of you were to choose 10 cars for your dream garage that people wont all choose the same 10 cars. I have owned many cars over the years & especially over the past 10. Each one I listed after for a number of reasons. Most I have sold (itched my scratch) to allow me to lust after & realise other cars. The F40 is and always will be a great collectors car. But, life is too short, I wish I could have kept all of the nice cars Ive owned, but alas, thats just wasnt & isnt possible. Anyway, this thread is about GT4/GT3 track cars...also, Why cant I link photos from external sites to this forum? When did that change?
