I am selling my complete 2.4L long block which will be out of the car in a week or so. Comes complete and ready to install.

Spec:

    [*]2.4L LE5 Gen 2 block on approx. 28k (10.4:1 compression ratio)
[*]Saab cylinder head (modified to fit) with NA cams
    [*]Ported exhaust ports
    [*]Balancer shaft delete
    [*]New oil pump
    [*]NA flywheel
    [/list]

The engine was originally put together by Vocky and has ran with no issues for just under 10k miles in my car. Link below:

    https://z22se.co.uk/...w-tweaks.27119/

These engines are very rare in Europe and would be suitable for a larger capacity NA (a skimmed head and cams), or with some stronger internals for a supercharger / turbo engine (as standard the engine will take around ~300bhp, but supposedly good for ~350bhp with just some strong steel conrods).

You will need an external crank trigger wheel to run the Z22SE ECU or a different ECU to run the internal trigger wheel (same as the Saab / LSJ).

I can palletise for buyer to arrange shipping at their own cost.

    £1,000.00

    Cheers,
    Ross

Hi Rosssco !

Is it possible to put a Z22SE crankshaft in to use the vx220 OEM trigger wheel ?

What power does this equate to as is? Looking to fit it with ITBs? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very interested, will drop you a pm. Does this drop straight in (same engine mounts, same gearbox and clutch, same exhaust and inlet manifolds etc...) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes you can, but you will need (I think) customs rods and / or pistons, and will end up with a 2.3L engine.

I have a free 2.2 crank sitting here too..

I ran an external trigger wheel for 3 years - no issues.

The power / torque output will obviously depend on your other mods. For an NA engine, you could probably assume + 10% ish. Comes with a slightly higher CR as standard which will help NA tuning obviously.

Yes, direct  replacement for a Z22SE. As noted, internal trigger pattern will not work with the Z22SE ECU.

you certainly will need either custom rods or custom pistons, due to the gudgeon pins being a different size

I knew it would sell quick, the 2.4 is a very rare engine in the UK and this one has already been converted to run in a vx220   :)

Is the Bore / Stroke Ratio the same on a 2.4?   (as it is on a 2.2)

Nope. Only the 2.0 has a 'square' bore / stroke ratio (both 86mm)

The 2.2 is under-square and has a longer stroke but same bore (86mm)

The 2.4 is also under-square and has an even longer stroke but bigger bore (88mm)

If you want an over-square engine, the only option is to use the 2.4L block with a 2.0 crank (think it comes out roughly 2.1L capacity)
