What do you want to build this time?  400Hp 2.2 ? 500Hp big bore 2.35 again?

Best start with a cheap new B207 engine for the new head, pumps parts etc. and build from there? Even if you want to go for 88mm Darton sleeves...

(Of go for a reinforced 2.4 gen3 GM 88mm block?)

Or a second hand B204 or B234 possibly... it has a similar form factor to a Z22 and loads cheaper to tune to 500 HP... if you decide to rebore it, it has loads of meat around the cylinders.

Neo brothers used to sell them for circa £500 to £800 second hand.

The bulletproof Saab 204/234 is the same "'pattern" as the older cast iron Z20LET/XE engines. Not sure if mr Cobra wants to go and reinvent this turbo route...

I meant, he could use a B204 and stick a supercharger on it if he wanted. Wasn't he thinking of twin charging it anyway (ie turbo + supercharger)?

If/when my own engine dies I'll be considering a B204 myself I think.

How come he's looking for another forged engine then?

I think after some careful consideration the fun/cost factor has to come into play. I don't know for sure but after the weekend i'm confident i could be fairly competitive with my vx at 280-320bhp. To be at the very front ie FTD territory I think the 350-380bhp would come in handy especially when on a dry track!

We shall see what happens at the next sprint!
