I've just installed my Garw IC8 dash and have spent some time setting it up. Having discussions with VincentL on different settings we've tried was really helpful so I've started this thread as the place for people to discuss it.

 

So, things I've learnt so far......

 

• You can turn the boot logo on and off by pressing the trip reset button with the ignition off. Important if your boot logo isnt working!!

 

• "shift limit" is where the speed/gear figure turns blue and the RPM bar goes red, "RPM limit" is where the screen RPM bar flashes. I have my shift limit set as the warning of getting near a shift and the rpm limit set as the shift point. The rpm limit is set under the rev limit so I have some thinking time!

 

• Gear indicator set up is out for fifth gear. When in 5th it flashes the indicator between 4th and 5th. The gear ratio setting is default at 26, I've set this to 20 and now 5th reads 4th. I'll try raising it later today, to 30 to see what that does. I'll report back once I have the correct value.

 

• Fuel value shows percent even when litres is selected in the menu, this will be fixed in later software updated.

Gear shift indicator setting for fifth gear is 30. That works for mine. Other new learning, the wifi turns off about two mins after turning the ignition off.

Installed mine at the weekend and all works great apart from my fuel is not registering which is a tad annoying, but at least I have a 60ltr ProAlloy tank

 

I've emailed a couple of questions to GARW and have received very quick responses so I am very happy with the service. I also received the latest 4.51 IC8 firmware and the Race Screen is now awesome, very crisp, clean and clear.

 

I find the new functionality in the setup screens around setting the number of screens and order to be utterly confusing and a real pain in the arse - probably user error on my side and I would like the option to easily delete screens I did now want (you can always reload them later if you change your mind).

 

Has anyone used the datalogger/lap time functionality? Really keen to understand how that works and do you need a separate GPS dongle for it to work?
