na oem is mat silver like the windows surround and has plastic lining. tubby oem is painted in car color and has padded lining. over the years many na's have been painted in car color. some turbo ones may have had a color change over time.

When new, a turbo hardtop was colour coded & the headlining was finished in material, the 2.2 was normally matt silver to match the windscreen trim with a plastic headlining unless it was a Lightning Yellow car To add: I clearly type to slowly :)

I think you need the plastic rear brackets on the car for a hard top ?

Early NA's had the latching bracket that is bolted into the rollbar that is missing a lip to which the hardtop bracket latches on (left one)

If you do, it will have to be replaced by the version on the right.

thanks, so would you need to change the bracket every time you switched between hard top and soft-top or would the hardtop bracket still fit an N/A soft top?

no, the new bracket is for both. The original bracket came to life when people bought a new NA without hardtop. These old style are getting rare by now.

You can use the metal bracket, just that the 'hook' on the hardtop side ends up rattling a bit on the metal bracket (a bit of tape usually finds its way on the end..)
