Folks,

What is the method for removing the headlights on the VX?  Is this necessary to change the lightbulbs?

In terms of 'upgrades'....

I intend keep Vix standard but with a few useful mods:

Spray-bar wiper arm?

Upgraded headlight bulbs?

Decent ducting/hose for the inappropriately named 'heater'?

Upgraded heater - to provide some heat?

Replace standard ABS system with 4-channel?

Everything on Vix is fine and working, as suspension has been recently been refreshed with standard spec and still running the 17" wheels front and rear.

Vix will be dropped off this weekend at a recommended bodyshop to get the paintwork bubbles, etc fixed.  They had just finished an lovely Elan when I went past to get a quote last week - they clearly know what they are doing with fibreglass...

The easiest is removing a single bolt from the inside. Just use a small socket wrench with Nr13 via the open front boot lid.

Then pull off the bracket, disconnect the cable and carefully pull it out. Then replace bulbs and reverse.

The hard way would be to jack up the car, remove the wheel, remove the inner liner and access what you see in above picture.

It's also advised to replace the standard nut/washer with a M8 wing nut and shockproof washer, so you can remove them easily in the future. As for the headlights, due to the recent MOT change I decided not to risk it with HID conversions, so I bought Philips Xtreme Vision +130%. It's definitely an improvement over my previous bulbs.

As above I now use nylon wing nuts on mine after blowing a bulb on a trip but not having a socket set to remove. PITA
