Hi guys. After 6 years of doing life things, I've picked up another VX. Not in the best state so the aim is to get it roadworthy again. It has done 90k miles but the engine is on around 45k (has had it swapped out).

Its previous owner had it for around 3 years but the last 1 it was sat laid up. Has a few bits that come with it:

Calypso Red with Black details (lights and petrol cap etc)

Hard Top

Tubby Spoiler

2 sets of wheels

2 diffusers (no idea what they are)

SPAX RSX suspension

Supercharger conversion half complete

TMS exhaust manifold

VSE

Plus the old engine and gearbox as spare

Full imgur album that I'll keep updated: https://imgur.com/a/Hf3BPlq

Welcome back.

It does need a full respray at some point - rear clam is faded and front clam is bubbling from osmosis.

They're the snow/winter wheels for the S4 (I drive up the Alps a lot).

Been doing a bit of work on it:

  • Gave the chassis/various suspension bits a coat of metal paint to hold off the rust and make it look a little nicer.
  • Replaced the tensioner and belt with a 1285 (from a 1270 which was goddamn tight).
  • Ran the hoses for the charge cooling down the sills
  • Connected up all of the CC hoses to the manifold and tank (it's a funny little one on this car)
  • Re-wired the 'yellow relay' to take a normal relay (just don't press the button when the engine is running)
  • Replaced the other two boot relays
  • Wired in the relay & fuse for the charge cooler pump
  • Dremel'd off the 3 annoying bolts that connect the rad surround to the crash box (the ones nearest the windscreen)
  • Started replacing the discs and pads
  • Stuck the front SPAX on (no idea why it was running on front bilstein OEM and rear SPAX)
  • Put the exhaust back on in preparation to start it up soon.
