I've got a Harrop SC VX running Dutch software but was wondering if you could help? I've just driven to work in the vx and cained it off the lights and in 4th it lost power (wouldn't rev at all just idle) and pinged an EML. I pulled over and switched it off, then on again and it would rev again but EML light is still on.

I had to get to work so gently drove here and the AFR and engine temp was all healthy.

Any ideas?

Adam

PS I've never interfaced with the software as I bought the car already done. Can I read the fault with a normal Obd reader or do I need to buy a lead and download software?

ive seen this a few times with the water injection and think its linked to the tmap, even though its to do with the throttle pedal throttle body code

Ive spoken to peter about this, as ive suffered with it my self and quite sure it happens due to the tmap getting to wet, other  than that it could be a vacuum leak

A slow MAP sensor can definitely cause the P1514. A P1514 is set when
the theoretical MAP difference between throttle position and engine
rpm gets over 30kPA.

So r you saying it could be delivering too much water, giving a false reading on the tmap and pinging a fault to protect the engine. As its mapped to see a certain pressure at a certain throttle position, if its different then it faults?

Could this just be a blip and can I reset it with a normal OBD reset tool?

I really do need to start learning about this software.

yes, you can read the code with any obdreader.

A simple standalone device like this:

Or this:

Thank you very much for your replies and help, I was panicking for a bit. My mate has a rest tool so will follow him home in the morning, when I finish work and confirm the code, I'll also get one myself, so thank u for the links.

When I fit in the car this morning the EML had gone out and car ran fine, I borrowed my mates reset tool and it had a P1271 code? The OBD didn't have vauxhall as one of its makes, is this usual?

https://www.speedste.../z22secodes.pdf

P1271 is an accelerator pedal read error. mis-match between the two opposing potentiometers (APP) in the pedal.

From the doc above, the conditions for setting this:

1) Detect a continuous or intermittent correlation fault between APP sensors #1 and #2.
OR,
2) Detect an invalid minimum mechanical position correlation between APP sensor #1 and #2.
OR,
3) Detect a short between the APPS 1 & 2 Circuits.

Possibly pedal, connector, Loom of doom connectors, ECU plug?

Bye, Arno.

Thanks Arno for codes and info and navx, I've searched Loom of Doom which the title sounds horrendous!
I'm off on Monday, so will remove clean and spray the most likely connectors.

Had the exact same symptoms on a Supercharged stage 2 car I viewed and was about to buy. Sudden loss of power and EML code.

Then upon restart it was fine but from time to time on hard pulls the same thing happened again.

Didn't buy the car and don't know if it was sorted eventually.

But loom of doom I guess is the first thing to check.

Cheers, I've driven it a couple of times since and it's fine, so don't want to take anything apart so close to a track day, so will hopefully get the track day done then look at my connecters.

I'll take my list and electrical connector spray with me just incase.
