I've got a 4 wheel trailer for the vx, any suggestions on what pressure I should have on the tyres?

Mine are 65 psi but it is single axle trailer and the tyres are 8 ply.

Hi,
I have a Brian James trailer, with hard cover on it, weighs about 1T in total plus VX.
I rang up BJ a while back and I'm sure they recommended 65psi (I wish I wire it down) . I bottled it and stick 50psi as that kind of pressure seems excessive.
They are 6ply trailer tyres. Which I must get round to changing.........

Depends on the wheel/tyre size and the load.

My twin axle Brian James Minno has 10” wheels and I run them around 50psi. Total weight loaded is probably 1.4T

I’ve also replaced the cross-plys with radials and it tows better and the tyres now run much cooler! A worthwhile change!

Oh right, as I've never been happy towing mine, it feels like I'm towing a house, but the trailer is like a brick shape. My trailer and car and spare tyres etc is about 2T, am I still ok to run radials?

My twin axle brian james enclosed trailer is set at 70psi, I borrowed a triple axle rain James trailer recently and incredibly those tyres are set at 90 psi. As others have mentioned each trailer and tyre choice can vary, best to check, my trailer has a plate on it that gives you choices of tyres you can run and what pressures they should be, no idea if that's common or not.

more load = more pressure

I normally look at the tyres marked sidewall maximum inflation pressure when cold , and set at 80% of that.

Really you need to look at axle load and tyre load rating

Wow 90psi, that's a lot of pressure, I think I may ring BJ tomoz and confirm my pressure again and ask about radials. As it sits run alot better with more pressure.

Thanks for the info siztenboots. My pressure show 44psi, but I was sure it was 65psi last time I contacted BJ. I contacted them again today and they said 44psi.

My tyres are 12" and the tables start at 13 so close enough, but I have emailed the sage to update there tables.

About to pump mine up tomorrow, but I usually run 70 psi in my twin axle Brian James trailer...seems excessive, but have ben all around Europe with the trailer and car with no problems... 70 psi is the recommended pressure from BJ in the case of my trailer.
