Hi, has anyone gone to the trouble of fitting the latest Lotus Open Gate Shifter to their VX?

I would assume it would work equally as well on the VX as it is claimed to do on the Elise...

Kindly, Paul

Or for that mater any other shifter that is more precise than std.

The new lotus one uses different chassis holes by all accounts.
No one has done it to an Elise or Exige let alone a VX... yet... so you’d be blazing a trail .

I spent the weekend in an S1 with that shifter.

It's fine but honestly no better than the oem shifter in terms of quality if the cables have been set correctly.

The side movement is so short it takes a bit of getting used to, and the lower gears don't engage as nicely as higher so when you grab second it's hard to be sure it's in.

It's really nicely finished though I must say.

Also the new style open shifter from lotus isn’t just the cabin end, the gearbox end has large counter weights that also add to the smooth snickety feel when changing gear.

Mine will the at the national of you want to take a look.
